To be the first to know about new workshop dates, please sign up to my newsletter at the bottom of the page.
A 3 hour Zoom workshop on the swiss darning method for knitwear.
This will be a relaxed and friendly workshop suitable for beginners, where you will learn how to repair your knitwear using the swiss darning method, or duplicate stitch. We will start from the beginning, using swiss darning as reinforcement, and then cover how to use it to repair holes. We will also spend time being creative with it, exploring pattern. The aim of workshop is to leave you confident to start repairing your own knitwear in a creative way.
Swiss darning is also a very useful skill if you would like to invisibly mend your knitwear.
You will be sent materials in advance. If you’re outside the UK, please allow two weeks for this. Please note that in the EU orders will now be subject to import duties and VAT on arrival.
The zoom link will be emailed to you a week in advance, and on the day of the workshop.
Materials included:
1 knitted fabric
1 needle
Graph paper
8 mini skeins of yarn- colours may very slightly depending on availability.
You will need to provide your own scissors, sewing thread and coloured pencils (one pen or pencil will do if you don’t have lots). You might also want to bring along your own knitwear that you want to mend or customise.
The workshop will be recorded and the link sent to you, so you can re-watch if you would like to afterwards. This will be available for 6 months.
All places reserved on this workshop are non refundable, and it can be very difficult to swap dates, so please check your calendar before booking!
All swiss darning workshop times are UK time. This is GMT until the 1st April, and then BST until the 28th October 2024.
