Elbow Patches
Elbow Patches
Two elbow patches made from knitted lambswool in a bold jacquard pattern.
Trim these elbow patch fabrics to the shape you want, then stitch them into place to repair a hole on the elbow of a sweater or cardigan. This is a quicker fix than darning or swiss darning a hole, while still giving you a creative visible mend!
2 matching pieces of fabric 10 x 14 cm approx each. The fabric is 3mm approx thick and will be best suited to knitwear that is not very fine.
Elbow patch fabric is 100% lambswool.
Stitch the patches on using Blanket Stitch, which is one of the embroidery stitches covered in my book and my embroidery tutorial video guides.
They are knitted on a hand powered knitting machine in the studio. The lambswool is Responsible Wool Standard certified, and spun and dyed in Scotland.
The elbow patch fabric has been felted so it will not come apart, and should be hard wearing. It still has a small amount of stretch, so it will be more suited for elbow patches on knitwear than leather patches.
